Storytelling + Arts & Crafts
- Suitable for families with children aged 3-8 years
- Hourly session: 12:00–1:00 / 1:00–2:00 / 2:00 – 3:00 / 3:00–4:00 / 4:00–5:00 / 5:00–6:00 pm
- Tickets will be distributed 15 minutes before each session starts. Each person can get one ticket only. One ticket is for one pair of parent and child.
- Maximum capacity of each session is 20 pairs of parent-child. First come first served.
Reading corner
- Opens from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm
- No tickets required. If there are too many people, the reading corner will be closed temporarily until there is room for new participants to enter.
Book signings
- There will be book signings on Nov 12 after “meet the authors”. One book per person. Please follow the instruction given by our staff.
- Book signings are limited to the participants of “Storytelling + Arts & Crafts” sessions only.
Bad weather arrangement:
The event will be cancelled when typhoon signal 3 or Red rainstorm warning signal is hoisted 2 hours before the event.
When the above weather signals are hoisted during the event, we reserve the right to stop or cancel the ongoing event, please follow the official instructions on site. There will be no reschedule of the event.
Author:
Chris Haughton is a UK based author & Illustrator. His first book, “Little Owl Lost” has been translated into 20 languages and has won awards in seven countries including the Dutch Picture Book of the Year award. “Oh No George!” won the Junior Magazine Picture Book of the Year Award and “Shh! We have a plan” won the AOI Award for Children’s books in 2014.
Pauline Young, a communication specialist, published author and storyteller, graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and an MBA. After working for two of Hong Kong’s largest employers, HSBC and the HKSAR Government, in communications and training for over 10 years, she started her own training consultancy in 2001.
As a Bring Me a Book trainer in Hong Kong since 2011, Pauline has led hundreds of “First Teacher’s Trainings” for parents and delivered creative storytelling “playshops” for over 50 schools, libraries, bookstores and community centers in the US, China and Hong Kong. Her first children’s book, “Socks Heaven”, was published in 2004.
