The Program Executive is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director.
Job Summary
- Support organization’s programs including library, training, volunteer, fundraising and membership programs
- Work closely with English and Chinese Book Selection Committee to manage our Find Me A Book search engine
- Provide on-site event coordination and assistance to ensure smooth implementation of project activities
- Support execution of marketing and fundraising events/strategies
- Office administration and clerical support including reception duties, book orderings, book inventory, database management, office supplies orders etc.
- Support the Board to arrange meetings and write meeting minutes
- Assist with the update and management of the organization’s website and social media platforms
- Assist in ad hoc events/projects as assigned
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree holder with 1-3 years of work experience in program management, office administration or related field. Experience with the NGO sector is a plus.
- Knowledge of PC and software applications i.e. Microsoft Office, Canva, and Photoshop etc.
- Proficiencity in Chinese and English
- Strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated
- Interest in children’s and family literacy issues
- Immediate availability is highly preferred
Compensation
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. 5-day work per week. Medical benefits provided.
Our professional storytellers are at the heart of our mission to ignite a love of reading amongst children in Hong Kong. Through interactive storytelling sessions and fun storybook extension activities and mini games, storytellers are great role models for parents and educators.
It is a part-time position that reports to the Project Manager. The storytellers can be bilingual or a native English and/or Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) speaker.
Job Summary
- Select suitable books for the themed storytelling sessions
- Design fun storybook extension activities and mini games for the themed storytelling sessions
- Read stories and play together with a group of children (60-90 mins per session)
- Work independently in various locations
Requirements
- Strong storytelling skills in English and/or Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)
- 2+ years’ teaching experience with kids 2-6 years old incl. arts & crafts
- Be creative, energetic, and patient
- Passionate in education and literacy issues, with knowledge of children’s books is an advantage
- Retired teachers / social workers are welcome
Compensation
- Hourly fee will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
- Travel allowance (Reimbursement)
