Dash (Dogs of World War II)?

Mitsi Kashino and her family, who are Japanese-Americans, are taken away to live in an incarceration camp after the Pearl Harbour attack during World War II. Mitsi is forced to separate from her beloved dog, Dash, and leaves him behind with her neighbour. She wonders if she will ever return home and reunite with Dash.
