Laxmi's Mooch

by Shelly Anand

Laxmi had never given the small hairs above her lip any thought. Her pals, however, point out that her whiskers might make her the ideal cat one day while playing farm animals during recess. She begins to develop body hair on her arms, legs, and even between her brows. Laxmi learns from her parents that hair grows everywhere, regardless of gender, and that it isn’t just for heads. Laxmi’s Mooch is a celebration of our bodies and our body hair, in whatever form they grow, with encouraging writing by Shelly Anand and lively, adorable drawings by Nabi H. Ali.
