Our Programs - The Book Bag Library Program
A Lending Library of children's books with "take home" book bags and audio recordingsBMABHK partners with non-profit organizations and businesses to create a simple yet highly effective and sustainable Book Bag Library in the Community and Workplace. It serves as a lending library which provides easily accessible selection of quality hardcover children's books and audio recordings that enhance reading skills and language acquisition. The Book Bag Library contains about 220 books for children ages 0 to 11 year old. The Book Bag Library Benefits: School Readiness Providing resources for parents to develop their children's pre-literacy skills which will impact future performance in school. Family Literacy Creating awareness of the long-lasting value of learning and literacy when parents and childcare providers read to young children from infancy. Family Values Encouraging a fun, daily ritual of parents reading to their children - a tradition that can be passed on to future generations. Business Involvement Educating the business community about literacy and encouraging and facilitating their participation in the Book Bad Library in the Workplace program. Employer-Employee Relations Providing an employee-benefit to workers as recognition of the important role they play in the company's success. A Book Bag Library Includes:
